Even practical acts like choosing a campsite are framed by dharma: the king seeks what is auspicious, stable, and orderly, reflecting responsibility for the army’s welfare and readiness for righteous action (including rites and governance).
The narrator states that the Pāṇḍava king (Yudhiṣṭhira) halts with his forces and establishes an encampment on level, auspicious ground, setting the stage for subsequent formal actions and ritual proceedings in the Ashvamedhika context.
