Adhyāya 62: Marutta’s Treasure and the Pāṇḍavas’ Auspicious Departure (मरुत्तस्य धनप्राप्त्युपक्रमः)
Just rule is portrayed as grounded in dharma and sustained by two forces: divine support (Vāsudeva’s prabhāva) and the moral power of a truthful blessing. Authority is validated by the commitment to protect the earth and its beings, not merely by inheritance.
The narrator Vaiśaṃpāyana foretells/affirms that a particular successor will govern the earth after the Pāṇḍavas, attributing this future stability to Kṛṣṇa’s divine influence and to his own spoken benediction.
