तेषां तदभवद् युद्ध दशाहानि महात्मनाम् | कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च सुमहल्लोमहर्षणम्,उन महामनस्वी कौरवों और पाण्डवोंमें दस दिनोंतक महान् रोमांचकारी युद्ध हुआ
teṣāṃ tad abhavad yuddhaṃ daśāhāni mahātmanām | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca sumahallomaharṣaṇam ||
Dijo Vāsudeva: «Así, entre aquellos guerreros de gran alma, se libró una batalla que duró diez días, entre los Kurus y los Pāṇḍavas: un conflicto inmenso, erizante, que despertaba asombro y espanto por la magnitud de su violencia.»
