न चान्वबुध्यत तदा स मुनिर्गुरुवत्सल: । ततः कदाचिद्‌ राजेन्द्र काष्ठान्यानयितुं ययौ

na cānvabudhyata tadā sa munir guruvatsalaḥ | tataḥ kadācid rājendra kāṣṭhāny ānayituṃ yayau ||

Y en aquel tiempo el sabio—tan devoto de su maestro—no advirtió lo que en verdad sucedía. Entonces, oh el mejor de los reyes, en cierta ocasión salió a traer leña.
