वासवो<प्यसुरान् सर्वान् विजित्य च निपात्य च । इन्द्रत्वं प्राप्प लोकेषु ततो वब्रे पुरोहितम्
vāsavo 'py asurān sarvān vijitya ca nipātya ca | indratvaṃ prāpya lokeṣu tato vavre purohitam ||
Dijo Vyāsa: «Vāsava (Indra) también, tras vencer a todos los asuras y abatirlos, alcanzó la soberanía de Indra entre los mundos. Después de ello, eligió a un sacerdote (purohita)».

Power and sovereignty are not portrayed as merely martial achievements; after victory, rightful rule is stabilized through dharmic counsel and ritual order, symbolized by appointing a purohita.
Vyāsa recounts that Indra defeated the Asuras, secured the status of Indra among the worlds, and then proceeded to appoint a priest to guide and officiate his rule.
