Cāturhotra as Inner Sacrifice (Yoga-Yajña) and Nārāyaṇa Recitation

गुणवत्पावको महां दीव्यते5न्त:शरीरग: । जो मनसे अवगत होता है

brāhmaṇa uvāca | guṇavat pāvako mahān dīvyate 'ntaḥśarīragaḥ | yogayajñaḥ pravṛtto me jñānavallīprado 'dbhutaḥ | prāṇastotraḥ apānaśastraḥ sarvatyāgasudakṣiṇaḥ |

Dijo el Brahmin: “Un Fuego poderoso y virtuoso resplandece dentro de mi cuerpo. He comenzado el sacrificio que es el Yoga—maravilloso, que otorga la enredadera del conocimiento. En este rito, el aliento que entra es el himno de alabanza, el aliento que sale es el instrumento sacrificial, y la mejor dádiva sacerdotal es la renuncia a todo. Deben ofrecerse, con disciplinada contención, las seis ‘oblaciones’ que son los objetos del pensamiento y de los sentidos—lo que la mente aprehende, lo que la palabra expresa, lo que el oído oye, lo que el ojo ve, lo que la piel toca y lo que la nariz huele—en los seis instrumentos de percepción que comienzan con la mente, haciendo del propio ser el altar. En esa ofrenda interior, el Ser Supremo, como el fuego que preside el sacrificio, se revela dentro de mi cuerpo y de mi mente.”
