Abhaya-Itihāsa: Karma, Indriyas, and the Non-sensory Brahman
Brāhmaṇī–Brāhmaṇa Saṃvāda
एवमुक्त: स शान्तात्मा तामुवाच हसन्निव | सुभगे नाभ्यसूयामि वाक्यस्यास्य तवानघे,पत्नीके ऐसा कहनेपर वे शान्तचित्तवाले ब्राह्मण देवता हँसते हुए-से बोले --'सौभाग्यशालिनि! तुम पापसे सदा दूर रहती हो; अतः तुम्हारे इस कथनके लिये मैं बुरा नहीं मानता
evam uktaḥ sa śāntātmā tām uvāca hasann iva | subhage nābhyasūyāmi vākyasyāsya tavānaghe ||
Así interpelado, el de ánimo sereno le habló como con una leve sonrisa: «Oh mujer afortunada, oh intachable; puesto que siempre estás libre de pecado, no me ofenden estas palabras tuyas.»
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights kṣamā (forbearance) and śānti (inner calm): a virtuous person, recognizing another’s blameless intent, does not react with resentment but responds gently.
After being spoken to by his wife, the tranquil-minded figure replies with a mild smile, reassuring her that he does not take her words amiss because she is sinless and well-intentioned.
