कुन्ती–व्याससंवादः
Kuntī–Vyāsa Dialogue on Durvāsā’s Boon and Karṇa’s Birth
ते चापि राजवचनात् पुरुषा ये गताभवन् | संकल्प्य तेषां कुल्यानि पुन: प्रत्यागमंस्ततः
te cāpi rājavacanāt puruṣā ye gatābhavan | saṅkalpya teṣāṃ kulyāni punaḥ pratyāgamaṃs tataḥ ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Aquellos hombres también, que habían partido por mandato del rey, reunieron los restos óseos de los difuntos y regresaron de allí. Conforme a los ritos debidos, los honraron con guirnaldas de muchas clases y con sándalo, y tras la adoración los entregaron a la corriente del Gaṅgā. Luego volvieron a Hastināpura y dieron cuenta al rey de todo lo sucedido. El pasaje subraya el deber ético de los vivos de cumplir con reverencia las obligaciones funerarias aun después de una gran calamidad, para que los muertos sean honrados y el orden social se restablezca por el dharma.
