निर्याणं धृतराष्ट्स्य शोक: समभवन्महान् | वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! राजा धृतराष्ट्रका यह परलोकगमनका समाचार सुनकर उन सभी महामना पाण्डवोंको बड़ा शोक हुआ
niryāṇaṃ dhṛtarāṣṭrasya śokaḥ samabhavan mahān | vaiśampāyana uvāca—janamejaya! rājā dhṛtarāṣṭrasya para-loka-gamana-samācāraṃ śrutvā te sarve mahāmanāḥ pāṇḍavā mahān śokam āpannāḥ |
Vaiśampāyana dijo: «Oh Janamejaya, cuando se oyó la noticia de que el rey Dhṛtarāṣṭra había partido al otro mundo, surgió un gran dolor. Todos aquellos Pāṇḍavas de noble corazón quedaron abrumados por una honda aflicción.»
