वैशम्पायन उवाच एतच्छुत्वा च सर्वेषां पाण्डवानां महात्मनाम्‌

vaiśampāyana uvāca etac chrutvā ca sarveṣāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ mahātmanām

Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Al oír esto, todos los Pāṇḍava, de alma magnánima, quedaron conmovidos; y el relato se vuelve ahora hacia su respuesta, tras las palabras de los ancianos y las exigencias del dharma en la etapa de vida retirada en el bosque.
