एतद्।ि नित्यं यत्नेन पद रक्ष्यं नराधिप । बहुप्रत्यर्थिकं होतद् राज्यं नाम कुरूद्धह,“कुरुश्रेष्ठ! नरेश्वर! राज्यके बहुत-से शत्रु होते हैं; अतः इसकी सदा ही यत्नपूर्वक रक्षा करनी चाहिये”
etad hi nityaṁ yatnena padaṁ rakṣyaṁ narādhipa | bahupratyarthikaṁ hy etad rājyaṁ nāma kurūdvaha ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: «Oh rey, esto debe ser custodiado siempre, con esfuerzo vigilante a cada paso. Pues la soberanía llamada “reino” está asediada por muchos rivales y adversarios, oh el más excelso sostén de la estirpe Kuru.»
