Renunciation should be undertaken with clarity of intention and with due regard for relational and ethical order: Dhṛtarāṣṭra seeks Yudhiṣṭhira’s consent, showing that withdrawal from worldly life is not mere escape but a dharmic transition requiring acknowledgment of responsibilities and authority.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra addresses Yudhiṣṭhira and declares that he will eat only after Yudhiṣṭhira grants him permission to depart for the forest, indicating firm resolve to leave the palace life and adopt a forest stage of life.
