Vidura’s Message to Dhṛtarāṣṭra: Authorization for Dāna and Public Welfare (विदुरवाक्यम्—दानानुज्ञा)

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharma expressed through yathāvidhi (proper, rule-guided) honoring of worthy guests—especially ascetics—and shows that sincere paricaryā (attentive service) is ethically potent, earning goodwill and spiritual approval.

Kuntī respectfully performs the prescribed worship for the ascetic sages present, and the sages become pleased and satisfied with her devoted attendance and service.
