Dhṛtarāṣṭra Honored in the Post-war Court
The verse highlights the dharmic ideal of honoring established authority and elders: even after upheaval, rulers maintain decorum by offering respectful attendance, reflecting continuity of social duty and restraint.
As events unfold in the Āśramavāsika Parva, kings from different regions arrive and, as they used to in earlier times, present themselves in service and attendance to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, the Kuru elder-king.
