Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
ब्रह्मा पितामह: पूर्व देवताभि: प्रसादित: । इमे नः संतरिष्यन्ति प्रजाभिर्जगती श्वरा:
brahmā pitāmahaḥ pūrvaṁ devatābhiḥ prasāditaḥ | ime naḥ santariṣyanti prajābhir jagatīśvarāḥ ||
Dijo Vasiṣṭha: «En tiempos antiguos, los dioses aplacaron al Abuelo Brahmā y suplicaron: “Señor, sé propicio para que estos descendientes de Bhṛgu y de los demás, al proteger la tierra, nos libren de la aflicción por medio de su progenie. Que todos sean Prajāpatis y grandes ascetas. Por el favor de tu gracia, en este mismo tiempo rescatarán al mundo entero del peligro”.»
