Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa

Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results

पुरुषा वपुषा युक्ता: स्वैः स्वै: प्रसवजैर्गुणै: । अतः सम्पूर्ण भूतोंमें जो सत्त्वमुण तथा उत्तम तेज है, वह प्रजापतिके उस शुक्रसे ही प्रकट हुआ है। प्रभो! ब्रह्माजीके वीर्यकी जब अग्निमें आहुति दी गयी तब उससे तीन शरीरधारी पुरुष उत्पन्न हुए, जो अपने-अपने कारणजनित गुणोंसे सम्पन्न थे || १०४ $ ।।

puruṣā vapuṣā yuktāḥ svaiḥ svaiḥ prasavajair guṇaiḥ |

Vasiṣṭha dijo: «Aquellas personas eran seres encarnados, y cada una estaba dotada de las cualidades nacidas de su propia causa de nacimiento. Así, toda la plenitud del sattva y el más alto resplandor que se halla entre los seres se dice que se manifestó a partir de esa esencia generativa de Prajāpati. Cuando la semilla de Brahmā fue ofrecida al fuego, de ella surgieron tres personas con cuerpo, cada una provista de los atributos nacidos de su propio origen.»
