Suvarṇa-dāna: Kārttikeya’s Origin and the Defeat of Tāraka (सुवर्णदान-प्रसङ्गे कार्त्तिकेय-उत्पत्ति तथा तारकवधः)

युरभ्युवाच वरेण भगवन्‌ महां कृतं लोकपितामह । एष एव वरो मेडद्य यत्‌ प्रीतोडसि ममानघ

surabhī uvāca—bhagavan, niṣpāpa lokapitāmaha! mama vara-grahaṇasya kācid āvaśyakatā nāsti. mama tu sarvottamo vara eṣa eva yat adya tvaṁ mayi prasanno 'si, anagha.

Dijo Surabhī: “Oh Señor bienaventurado, oh Abuelo sin pecado de los mundos: no tengo necesidad de pedir don alguno. Para mí, el mayor don es éste solo: que hoy estás complacido conmigo, oh intachable.”
