Chapter 84: Brahmā’s Counsel on Tāraka, the Search for Agni, and the Genesis of Skanda
Kārttikeya
The verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it situates the preceding instruction within the Mahābhārata’s ethical discourse on dāna-dharma, specifically emphasizing go-dāna (the gifting of cows) as a meritorious form of righteous giving.
The narrator marks the formal close of a chapter: the ‘Go-pradāna’ chapter within the Dāna-dharma portion of Anuśāsana Parva concludes here, signaling a transition to the next unit of instruction.
