Chapter 84: Brahmā’s Counsel on Tāraka, the Search for Agni, and the Genesis of Skanda
Kārttikeya
Serving and honoring cows (go-sevā) is presented as a powerful dharmic practice that yields desired fruits—offspring, wealth, marital fulfillment, and, broadly, the attainment of one’s aims—because pleased cows are said to bestow blessings.
In Anuśāsana Parva’s instructional discourse on dharma and meritorious observances, Vyāsa states the results of cow-service: different seekers obtain their respective goals, and the statement culminates in the assurance that satisfied cows grant boons without doubt.
