बेटा! वरदान मिलनेके पश्चात् गौओंके सींग प्रकट हो गये। जिसके मनमें जैसे सींगकी इच्छा थी, उसके वैसे ही हो गये। नाना प्रकारके रूप-रंग और सींगसे युक्त हुई उन गौओंकी बड़ी शोभा होने लगी ।।
brahmaṇā varadattās tā havyakavyapradāḥ śubhāḥ | puṇyāḥ pavitrāḥ subhagā divyasaṃsthānalakṣaṇāḥ ||
Vyāsa dijo: «Tras recibir el don, se manifestaron los cuernos de aquellas vacas. Tal como cada una deseaba en su mente que fueran sus cuernos, así llegaron a ser. Dotadas de múltiples formas y colores, y provistas de cuernos, aquellas vacas adquirieron gran hermosura. Por la gracia concedida por Brahmā, se volvieron auspiciosas y benéficas, capaces de proveer ofrendas tanto para los dioses (havis) como para los antepasados (kavya). Eran santas y purificadoras, colmadas de buena fortuna, y señaladas por una forma divina y signos distintivos.»
