Gopradāna-Māhātmya: Inquiry into Goloka
brāhmaṇa uvāca | yat tatra kṛtvā sumahat puṇyaṃ syāt tad bravīhi me | sarvasya hi pramāṇaṃ tvaṃ trailokyasyāpi sattama ||
The verse frames dharma as something to be learned from a reliable authority (pramāṇa). It emphasizes the ethical quest for the highest merit (puṇya) and the importance of seeking guidance from one regarded as exemplary and trustworthy in matters of righteousness.
A Brahmin respectfully questions an eminent virtuous person, asking what action—done ‘there’ in the given context—produces great merit. He reinforces the addressee’s status as an authoritative guide for dharma, even for the three worlds.
