रत्नोपकीर्णा वसुधां यो ददाति पुरंदर | स मुक्त: सर्वकलुषै: स्वर्गलोके महीयते,पुरंदर! जो रत्नयुक्त पृथ्वीका दान करता है, वह समस्त पापोंसे मुक्त होकर स्वर्गलोकमें सम्मानित होता है
ratnopakīrṇāṁ vasudhāṁ yo dadāti purandara | sa muktaḥ sarva-kaluṣaiḥ svarga-loke mahīyate ||
Bhishma dijo: «Oh Purandara (Indra), quien da en caridad la tierra esparcida de joyas queda libre de toda mancha de pecado y es honrado en el mundo del cielo».
भीष्म उवाच
Extraordinary generosity—symbolized by gifting jewel-strewn land—purifies the giver from all moral impurities (kaluṣa) and leads to honor in heaven; the verse frames dāna as a powerful dharmic means of inner and karmic cleansing.
In Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction on dharma, Bhishma addresses Purandara (Indra) and states the फल (result) of a supreme gift: the donor of jewel-adorned earth attains freedom from sin and is revered in Svargaloka.
