Nakṣatra-yoga-anusāreṇa Dāna-vidhiḥ

Gifts prescribed according to lunar mansions and yogas

विद्यावेदब्रतवति तद्दानफलमुच्यते । जो याचना नहीं करते

bhīṣma uvāca | vidyāvedabratavati taddānaphalam ucyate |

Dijo Bhishma: «Ahora se declara el fruto del dar en el caso de quien es instruido, versado en el Veda y observante de votos sagrados. No debe uno esperar a que le pidan; antes bien, ha de ir por su propia voluntad y ofrecer diversas necesidades a quienes no mendigan. El mérito que se obtiene al realizar correctamente el Agnihotra al alba y al ocaso, ese mismo se obtiene al dar a un brahmán conocedor del Veda y fiel a sus votos».
