अध्याय ५६ — च्यवन–कुशिकसंवादः
Cyavana–Kuśika Dialogue on Lineage, Conflict, and Transmission
पुनरेव च विप्रर्षि: प्रोवाच कुशिकं नूपम् | सभार्यों मां रथेनाशु वह यत्र ब्रवीम्यहम्
punar eva ca viprarṣiḥ provāca kuśikaṃ nṛpam | sa-bhāryo māṃ rathenāśu vaha yatra bravīmy aham ||
Dijo Bhishma: “Entonces, una vez más, el brahmarshi habló al rey Kushika: ‘Junto con tu esposa, unceos al carro y llévame con presteza adonde yo ordene.’” En el relato, este mandato sigue a un periodo de servicio minucioso y de prueba; al no hallar falta en la conducta del rey, el sabio intensifica el examen, exigiendo una humildad, obediencia y dominio de sí inquebrantables—virtudes que aquí se tienen por superiores al orgullo y al confort reales.
