Cyavana Explains His Tests; Kuśika Seeks Brāhmaṇya for His Line (च्यवन–कुशिक संवादः)
यदि राज्यं यदि धनं यदि गा: संशितव्रत । यज्ञदानानि च तथा ब्रहि सर्व ददामि ते
yadi rājyaṃ yadi dhanaṃ yadi gāḥ saṃśitavrata | yajñadānāni ca tathā brūhi sarvaṃ dadāmi te ||
Bhīṣma dijo: “Oh sabio de votos firmes y austeros, si lo que deseas es un reino, si es riqueza, si es ganado, o también dones destinados al sacrificio, dímelo. Te lo daré todo. Este palacio real, este dominio y este trono de soberanía conforme al dharma son tuyos. Tú eres el rey: protege esta tierra. En cuanto a mí, permaneceré siempre como siervo, obediente a tu mandato.”
