(दाक्षिणात्य अधिक पाठके २ श्लोक मिलाकर कुल ६२ श्लोक हैं) ऑपन-मराज बछ। अि्--छऋायज एकचत्वारिशो<5 ध्याय: विपुलका देवराज इन्द्रसे गुरुपत्नीको बचाना और गुरुसे वरदान प्राप्त करना भीष्म उवाच ततः कदाचित देवेन्द्रो दिव्यरूपवपुर्धर: । इदमन्तरमित्येवमभ्यगात्‌ तमथाश्रमम्‌,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--राजन्‌! तदनन्तर किसी समय देवराज इन्द्र यही ऋषिपत्नी रुचिको प्राप्त करनेका अच्छा अवसर है'--ऐसा सोचकर दिव्य रूप एवं शरीर धारण किये उस आश्रममें आये

bhīṣma uvāca | tataḥ kadācit devendro divya-rūpa-vapur-dharaḥ | idam antaram ity evam abhyagāt tam athāśramam ||
