'फिर अपने दोनों नेत्रोंको उन्होंने उसके नेत्रोंकी ओर लगाया और अपने नेत्रोंकी किरणोंको उसके नेत्रोंकी किरणोंके साथ जोड़ दिया। फिर उसी मार्गसे आकाशमें प्रविष्ट होनेवाली वायुकी भाँति रुचिके शरीरमें प्रवेश किया” ।।
lakṣaṇaṁ lakṣaṇenaiva vadanaṁ vadanena ca | aviceṣṭan na tiṣṭhad vai chāyevāntarhito muniḥ ||
Bhishma dijo: «Haciendo corresponder signo con signo y boca con boca, entró en ella sin movimiento exterior alguno y permaneció por completo inmóvil. En aquel instante, el gran sabio Vipula, aunque presente, parecía como si hubiera desaparecido, como una sombra».
