As a chapter-ending colophon, the verse itself does not add new instruction; it signals that the chapter’s ethical focus is dāna-dharma (right giving) and the honoring of Brahmins as custodians of learning, ritual, and moral discipline—an ideal presented as sustaining dharma in society.
Bhishma is concluding a didactic unit: the text formally marks the end of the thirty-fifth chapter within Anushasana Parva, identifying its subject as the praise of Brahmins in the broader discussion on the dharma of charity.
