Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
When beings are distressed by suffering and seek a dependable refuge, Gaṅgā is presented as the सर्वोत्तम गति (supreme support/means)—a uniquely powerful sanctuary associated with purification and uplift.
A Siddha (perfected sage) is speaking, praising Gaṅgā’s incomparable role as a refuge for afflicted beings, in the broader Anuśāsana-Parva context of dharma-instruction and sacred merits.
