Gaṅgā-māhātmya: Siddha–Śilavṛtti-saṃvāda and Gaṅgā-stava

Educational Q&A

Do not condemn Śruti or sage-authored Śāstra without proper understanding; such reckless disparagement is treated as a grave offense because it erodes the very sources that guide dharma and right conduct.

In Bhīṣma’s instruction on dharma (Anuśāsana Parva), he warns the listener that ignorant criticism of Vedic injunctions and authoritative teachings is spiritually dangerous and socially harmful, and he classifies the offender among the gravely sinful.
