कला: काष्ठा लवा मात्रा मुहूर्ताहःक्षपा: क्षणा: । विश्वेक्षेत्र प्रजाबीज॑ लिड्रमाद्यस्तु निर्गम:
vāyudeva uvāca | kalāḥ kāṣṭhā lavā mātrā muhūrtāhaḥkṣapāḥ kṣaṇāḥ | viśvakṣetraṁ prajābījaṁ liṅgam ādyas tu nirgamaḥ ||
Dijo Vāyudeva: «Kalās, kāṣṭhās, lavas, mātrās, muhūrtas, días y noches, y kṣaṇas: tales son las medidas y divisiones del Tiempo. Él es el sostén del universo, como el suelo de un árbol cósmico; es la causa-semilla de todos los seres; es el signo sutil (liṅga) por el cual se infiere lo inmanifestado; y es el primero en emerger en la creación».
