देवा देवर्षयश्लैव स्तुता राजर्षयस्तथा । पुष्टिमायुर्यश: स्वर्ग विधास्यन्ति ममेश्वरा:
devā devarṣayaś caiva stutā rājarṣayas tathā | puṣṭim āyur yaśaḥ svargaṁ vidhāsyanti mameśvarāḥ ||
Bhīṣma dijo: «Cuando se alaba a los dioses, a los sabios divinos y a los sabios reales, ellos—como potestades soberanas—me otorgarán sustento y bienestar, larga vida, fama y la consecución del cielo».
