प्रथमं ब्रह्मण: पुत्र धर्ममाहुर्मनीषिण: । धर्मिण: पर्युपासन्ते फलं पक्वमिवाशय:

Transliteration

prathamaṁ brahmaṇaḥ putraṁ dharmam āhur manīṣiṇaḥ | dharmiṇaḥ paryupāsante phalaṁ pakvam ivāśayāḥ ||

Translation

Bhishma dijo: «Los sabios declaran que el Dharma es el primogénito de Brahmā. Así como el apetito prefiere un fruto plenamente maduro, del mismo modo los firmes en la rectitud se consagran sólo al Dharma, buscando lo que es maduro, sano y verdaderamente fecundo en la vida».
