rudrasya vikramaṃ dṛṣṭvā bhītā devāḥ saharṣibhiḥ | tataḥ prasādayāmāsuḥ śarvaṃ te vibudhottamāḥ ||
Al ver la arrolladora proeza de Rudra, los dioses, junto con los sabios, quedaron sobrecogidos de temor. Entonces los más excelsos entre los celestiales buscaron aplacar a Śarva (Śiva) y ganar su favor.
वायुदेव उवाच
True strength is met rightly through humility and reverence: when confronted with a higher, divine power, the proper dharmic response is to restrain ego and seek harmony by propitiation rather than rivalry.
Vāyudeva narrates that the gods and sages, witnessing Rudra’s formidable prowess, become fearful and then collectively attempt to please Śiva (Śarva) to obtain his grace and avert danger.
