अश्रिभ्यां सह सोमं च पिबाम विगतज्वरा: । फिर तो मदके मुखमें पड़े हुए देवताओंने आपसमें सलाह करके इन्द्रसे कहा --'देवराज! आप विप्रवर च्यवनको प्रणाम कीजिये (इनसे विरोध करना अच्छा नहीं है)। हमलोग निश्रिन्त होकर अश्विनीकुमारोंके साथ सोमपान करेंगे”
aśribhyāṁ saha somaṁ ca pibāma vigatajvarāḥ |
Dijo Cyavana: “Bebamos el Soma junto con los Aśvins, libres de toda fiebre y aflicción.” En el relato que lo rodea, los dioses—alarmados por las consecuencias de oponerse al sabio—deliberaron entre sí y dijeron a Indra: “¡Oh rey de los dioses! Inclínate ante el brahmán excelso, Cyavana (no conviene enfrentarse a él). Así podremos beber el Soma sin temor, junto con los gemelos Aśvin.”
