पराक्रमैस्तेडपि तदा व्यघ्नन्नत्रिसुरक्षिता: । उद्धासितश्न सविता देवास्त्राता हतासुरा:
parākramais te ’pi tadā vyaghnaṁn atrisurakṣitāḥ | uddhāsitaś ca savitā devās trātā hatāsurāḥ ||
Bhīṣma dijo: «Entonces también aquellos dioses, protegidos por Atri, abatieron a los enemigos con su propio valor. El Sol (Savitṛ) fue hecho resplandeciente, los dioses fueron salvados y los asuras destruidos. Al ver a esos poderosos asuras abrasados por el fulgor espiritual de Atri, los dioses—seguros bajo su amparo—se alzaron a la acción y dieron muerte a los daityas. El pasaje subraya que la protección justa y la austeridad interior fortalecen el esfuerzo recto: la ayuda divina no sustituye al coraje, sino que le permite triunfar contra las fuerzas destructoras.»
