अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
अयं च सर्वभूतानां शुभाशुभगतिप्रद: । अयं च जन्ममरणे विदध्यात् सर्वजन्तुषु,ये ही समस्त प्राणियोंको शुभ और अशुभ गति प्रदान करनेवाले हैं। ये ही समस्त प्राणियोंको जन्म और मृत्यु प्रदान करते हैं
ayaṃ ca sarvabhūtānāṃ śubhāśubhagatipradaḥ | ayaṃ ca janmamaraṇe vidadhyāt sarvajantuṣu ||
Vāyu dijo: “Él es quien concede a todos los seres sus rumbos auspiciosos e infaustos. Él es también quien ordena, para cada criatura, la llegada del nacimiento y la inevitabilidad de la muerte.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse asserts a supreme ordaining power behind moral outcomes: auspicious and inauspicious destinies (śubha/aśubha gati) and even the universal conditions of birth and death are governed by that higher principle, reinforcing accountability (karma) within an overarching cosmic order.
Vāyu is speaking and identifying the one being praised as the determiner of all beings’ destinies—both their favorable and unfavorable attainments—and as the ordainer of birth and death for all creatures.
