अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
सेयमासादिता साक्षात् त्वद्धक्तिजन्मभिमया । भक्तानुग्रहकृद् देवो य॑ ज्ञात्वामृतमश्लुते
seyam āsāditā sākṣāt tvad-bhakti-janmābhimayā | bhaktānugraha-kṛd devo yaṁ jñātvāmṛtam aśnute ||
«Tras el empeño de muchos nacimientos, ahora he alcanzado—de modo directo e inequívoco—la devoción hacia ti. Tú eres el gran Señor divino que concede gracia a los devotos; conociéndote en verdad, los sabios alcanzan la inmortalidad (la liberación).»

Devotion is not merely emotion but a hard-won attainment cultivated over many lives; when it matures into direct realization of the Lord, it draws divine grace. True knowledge of the Lord—supported by devotion—leads to ‘amṛta’, i.e., liberation beyond death.
