याधातथ्येन सिद्धस्य इतिहासं पुरातनम्‌ | पराशरमतं दिव्यं शकाय कथितं पुरा

Transliteration

yādhātathyena siddhasya itihāsaṃ purātanam | parāśaramataṃ divyaṃ śakāya kathitaṃ purā ||

Translation

Dijo Bhīṣma: «Éste es un relato sagrado, veraz y antiquísimo, enseñado por el sabio consumado Vedavyāsa conforme a la realidad. Expone la doctrina divina de Parāśara, y en tiempos remotos fue transmitido a Indra».
