शुभाशुभानि कर्माणि मृत्यु: कालश्न सर्वश: । विश्वेदेवा: पितृगणा मूर्तिमन्तस्तपोधना:

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | śubhāśubhāni karmāṇi mṛtyuḥ kālaś ca sarvaśaḥ | viśvedevāḥ pitṛgaṇā mūrtimantas tapodhanāḥ ||

Translation

Dijo Bhīṣma: «Todas las obras, auspiciosas e infaustas, son observadas por completo por la Muerte y por el Tiempo. Los Viśvedevas y las huestes encarnadas de los Pitṛs—ricos en mérito ascético—también velan. Aunque invisibles, estos testigos divinos contemplan la conducta de todos los seres y, cuando son recordados y alabados, otorgan frutos acordes, sosteniendo el orden moral del mundo.»
