सुरेश: शरणं शर्म विश्वरेता: प्रजाभव: । अह: संवत्सरो व्याल: प्रत्यय: सर्वदर्शन:
sureśaḥ śaraṇaṃ śarma viśvaretāḥ prajābhavaḥ | ahaḥ saṃvatsaro vyālaḥ pratyayaḥ sarvadarśanaḥ ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: Él es el Señor de los dioses; el refugio supremo de los afligidos; la dicha misma; la semilla y causa del universo; la fuente de la que nacen todas las criaturas. Él es la luz del día, el año que mide el tiempo; la serpiente cósmica (Śeṣa) que sostiene los mundos; la verdad realizada por el entendimiento purificado; y el testigo que todo lo ve en cada ser. Así, la enseñanza conduce al oyente a tomar refugio en lo Divino como fundamento del orden, del tiempo y del discernimiento moral.
