एतदत्यदभुतं वृत्तं पुण्ये हि भवति प्रभो । वासुदेवस्य कौन्तेय स्थाणोश्वैव स्वभावजम्
etad atyadbhutaṃ vṛttaṃ puṇye hi bhavati prabho | vāsudevasya kaunteya sthāṇoś caiva svabhāvajam, prabho ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: «Oh señor, oh hijo de Kuntī, este es un relato sumamente maravilloso. Aconteció en tiempos antiguos, en un lugar sagrado, y trata de la grandeza innata y natural de Vāsudeva (Śrī Kṛṣṇa) y de Sthāṇu (Mahādeva)».
