Kīrtana for the Removal of Impurity

Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that severe violations of dharma—especially causing animal slaughter, violating the guru’s bed, and promiscuous/illicit sexual conduct—lead to grave karmic consequences, here expressed as being born klība (sexually impaired/impotent).

Śrī Maheśvara is delivering a moral-legal pronouncement within Anuśāsana Parva, listing specific transgressions and stating their adverse result, as part of broader instruction on conduct and the fruits of actions.
