साभ्यगच्छत मां देवि रूपेणाप्रतिमा भुवि । प्रदक्षिणं लोभयन्ती मां शुभे रुचिरानना,देवि! शुभे! इस पृथ्वीपर तिलोत्तमाके रूपकी कहीं तुलना नहीं थी। वह सुमुखी बाला मुझे लुभाती हुई मेरी परिक्रमा करनेके लिये आयी
sābhyagacchat māṃ devi rūpeṇāpratimā bhuvi | pradakṣiṇaṃ lobhayantī māṃ śubhe rucirānanā ||
Dijo Bhishma: «Oh diosa, ella se acercó a mí—sin par en hermosura sobre la tierra. Aquella doncella auspiciosa, de rostro bello, seduciendo mi mente, vino a circunvalarme (en señal de reverencia y de ostentación).»
भीष्म उवाच

Bhishma narrates that an extraordinarily beautiful maiden approaches him and performs pradakṣiṇā (circumambulation), while simultaneously captivating him—setting the scene for a moral test involving attraction, propriety, and dharma.
