Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
अर्द्धमानाश्च विबुधा ग्रहेण सुबलीयसा । शिवदत्तवरान् जष्नुरसुरेन्द्रान सुरा भूशम्
arddhamānāś ca vibudhā graheṇa subalīyasā | śivadattavarān jaṣṇur asurendrān surā bhūśam ||
Dijo Vāsudeva: «Cuando aquel Graha, de fuerza desmedida, comenzó a hostigar a los dioses, los devas —aunque acosados— contraatacaron y derrotaron a los señores de los asuras que habían obtenido dones concedidos por Śiva. Así prosiguió entre ellos una guerra prolongada, mostrando que incluso el poder amparado por lo divino, si se usa para oprimir, suscita resistencia y un conflicto sostenido.»
