Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
नास्ति पुत्र पयो5रण्ये सुरभीगोत्रवर्जिते
nāsti putra payo 'raṇye surabhī-gotra-varjite |
Vāsudeva dijo: «Hijo mío, en este bosque no hay leche en absoluto, pues está desprovisto del linaje de Surabhī (la vaca divina): aquí no hay vacas. Por ello, para nosotros, los sabios que moramos entre ríos, cuevas, montañas y múltiples vados sagrados, firmes en la austeridad y en la recitación de fórmulas sagradas, el refugio supremo no es otro que el Señor Śaṅkara».
