निश्चय ही तुम धनवानोंके बीच परम उत्तम और समयोचित बात कहते होगे, किंतु वह उन्हें पसंद न आती होगी। इसीलिये तुम सफेद और दुर्बल हो रहे हो ।।
dṛḍhapūrvaśrutaṃ mūrkhaṃ kupitaṃ hṛdayapriyam | anunetuṃ na śaknoṣi tenāsi hariṇaḥ kṛśaḥ ||
El brahmán dijo: «Alguna persona querida para ti—antes firme en su determinación y desde antiguo familiar a ti—por necedad se ha airado contigo. No puedes apaciguarla ni recuperarla con suave persuasión; por eso te has vuelto delgado y pálido como un ciervo.»
