Personal pleasure cannot justify harming the harmless; violence motivated by self-interest leads to adverse karmic results and unhappiness after death.
In the Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction on dharma, Yudhiṣṭhira articulates an ethical principle: one who kills non-violent creatures with force, merely for one’s own comfort, will not attain happiness in the hereafter.
