मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity
उस विमानमें एक ही खम्भा होता है, चार दरवाजे लगे होते हैं। वह सात तल्लोंसे युक्त एवं परममंगलमय विमान सहस्रों वैजयन्ती पताकाओंसे सुशोभित तथा गीतोंकी मधुर- ध्वनिसे व्याप्त होता है ।।
tasmin vimāne eka eva khambhaḥ, catvāraḥ dvārāḥ lagitāḥ. tat sapta-tala-yuktaṃ parama-maṅgalamayaṃ vimānaṃ sahasraiḥ vaijayantī-patākābhiḥ suśobhitaṃ ca gītānāṃ madhura-dhvani-vyāptaṃ bhavati. divyaṃ divya-guṇopetaṃ vimānam adhirohati, maṇi-muktā-pravālaiś ca bhūṣitaṃ vaidyuta-prabham.
Bhishma describe un carro celestial supremamente auspicioso: tiene una sola columna, cuatro puertas y siete pisos. Está adornado con miles de estandartes de victoria (vaijayantī) y colmado del dulce resonar de los cantos. Radiante y dotado de cualidades divinas, se monta en ese carro del cielo; reluce como el rayo y está engalanado con gemas, perlas y coral.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse uses the imagery of a radiant, auspicious vimāna to signify the honor and elevated state that accrue from dharmic conduct and accumulated merit; splendor here functions as a narrative symbol of ethical and spiritual attainment.
Bhishma is describing the features of a celestial vimāna—its structure (one pillar, four gates, seven levels), its adornments (victory banners, jewels), and its atmosphere (sweet song)—as part of a larger account of heavenly realms/rewards connected with righteous living.
