उपोष्य विधिवद् देवास्त्रिदिवं प्रतिपेदिरे । ऋषयश्न परां सिद्धिमुपवासैरवाप्रुवन्,देवताओंने विधिवत् उपवास करके ही स्वर्ग प्राप्त किया है तथा ऋषियोंको भी उपवाससे ही सिद्धि प्राप्त हुई है
Aṅgirā uvāca |
upoṣya vidhivad devās tridivaṁ pratipedire |
ṛṣayaś ca parāṁ siddhim upavāsair avāpuḥ ||
Aṅgirā dijo: «Observando el ayuno conforme al rito, los dioses alcanzaron Tridiva, el mundo celeste. Asimismo, los ṛṣis, por medio de los ayunos, obtuvieron la suprema realización».
अंगियरा उवाच
That fasting (upavāsa), when performed vidhivat—properly and in accordance with dharma—functions as tapas (austerity) that purifies and becomes a means to higher attainment, exemplified by both gods (heaven) and sages (supreme siddhi).
Aṅgirā is instructing by citing authoritative precedents: the devas reached heaven and the ṛṣis gained high spiritual success through disciplined fasting, thereby recommending regulated upavāsa as a dharmic practice.
